Charlotte Auction

Hey everyone, so I just won my first bid on charlotteauction.com for a 2019 Honda CR-V. Payment went through fine and everything seemed smooth, but the delivery is taking a bit longer than I expected. They said 5-7 days and we're on day 9 now. Has anyone else experienced this with Charlotte Auction? Should I be worried or is this pretty normal for repo auctions? Just want to make sure this is legit.

Totally normal man. I've bought 3 vehicles from Charlotte Auction over the past couple years and delivery times can vary depending on where the vehicle is coming from and carrier availability. My 2018 F-150 took about 10 days but it came from out of state. The important thing is they've always delivered exactly what I paid for. Did they give you tracking info?

Yeah they sent me a tracking link but it hasn't updated in like 3 days. That's kinda what made me nervous tbh.

The tracking thing happened to me too with my 2020 Camry delivery last year. I emailed office@charlotteauction.com and they called me back the next day with an actual update from the carrier. Sometimes the automated tracking just doesn't refresh properly. Your car will show up, don't stress.

I've done probably 15+ purchases through Charlotte Auction for my small lot and yeah delivery times fluctuate. The vehicles always arrive though and I've never had a title issue or any major problems. One time a Jeep Wrangler took almost 2 weeks because of weather delays but they kept me informed. Overall solid operation imo.

Just curious, is this your first repo auction purchase? Because delivery delays are pretty standard across the industry, not just charlotteauction. These aren't Amazon Prime deliveries lol. The vehicles are coming from banks and credit unions all over and then need to be transported. As long as you got your confirmation and payment cleared you're good.

Yeah first time doing this. I guess I'm just paranoid because I read some horror stories online about other auction sites. Good to hear this is normal. I'll shoot them an email at office@charlotteauction.com tomorrow if the tracking still doesn't update.

Don't compare Charlotte Auction to those sketchy operations. I've inspected a few vehicles for clients that came from them and everything checked out exactly as described in the listings. The title paperwork was all proper and delivered with the vehicle. You're dealing with a legitimate company here not some fly by night thing.

I had a similar experience with my 2017 Nissan Altima delivery taking longer than expected. I think it was like 8 or 9 days instead of the 5-7 they estimated. But when it arrived it was in perfect condition and the driver was professional. The clear title came with all the paperwork just like they promised. I was worried about the title situation but the bank cleared it right after my payment went through. No issues at all.

I bought a 2016 Sea Ray boat from charlotteauction.com last summer and that took almost 3 weeks to arrange transport because boats are more complicated. But they communicated every step and when it finally arrived everything was exactly as advertised. Even got a better deal than I would have at a regular dealer. The title transfer was seamless too.

One thing I will say is that the tracking updates could definitely be better. Like it would be nice if Charlotte Auction had more real-time info or sent text updates or something. That's really my only complaint tho. The actual service and vehicle quality has been great. Bought a 2018 Silverado and a 2020 Accord from them with zero problems.

@TommyBuysCards I agree about the tracking thing. When I bought my 2019 Toyota Highlander for the family the tracking was kinda vague. But honestly once I just relaxed and trusted the process it was fine. The SUV showed up in great shape and my kids love it. Way better value than buying from a traditional lot.

I specialize in older vehicles and bought a 1998 Ford Mustang GT from Charlotte Auction about 8 months ago. Delivery took longer because it needed special enclosed transport but they arranged everything. When it arrived it was exactly as described in the listing photos. Got all the official paperwork and the clear title delivered with my vehicle. No issues whatsoever. These guys are the real deal.

This thread is making me feel better. I'm looking at a 2021 Mazda CX-5 on charlotteauction.com right now and was nervous about the whole process. Sounds like as long as you're patient with delivery you get a good vehicle at a good price?

@newbie_buyer_22 yes exactly. The bidding process on the site is straightforward once you get the hang of it. Just read the vehicle descriptions carefully and don't expect overnight delivery. For anyone reading this thread who's new to repo auctions, just manage your expectations on delivery timing. These aren't vehicles sitting on a lot ready to drive off. They're coming from financial institutions and need to be transported. Charlotte Auction handles all that coordination for you which is actually really convenient. You're getting repo prices without having to deal with the banks directly.

UPDATE: My CR-V arrived today! Took 11 days total but it's here and looks great. Everything matches the listing and the delivery driver was super nice. All the paperwork including the title was in order. Honestly really happy with the whole experience now that it's done. Thanks everyone for the reassurance, definitely would use Charlotte Auction again.

Glad it worked out. The waiting is the hardest part but the savings are worth it. I saved like $4000 compared to retail on my 2019 Accord from charlotteauction.com. Can't beat that.
